The Fourth of July. I spent the evening of the Fourth, with my brother and his wife, in a wonderful little mountain restaurant nestled in the Blue Ridge on the banks of the Toccoa. The Toccoa Riverside Restaurant is a few miles from Blue Ridge Georgia in the "Aska Adventure Area" The food was standard mountain/country fare. Steaks, Chicken in various permutations, fried, grilled, broiled. There was one item that caught my interest though I wasn't bold enough on this occasion to try it. Fried broiled seafood. I kid you not. The menu reads: "Seafood Platter Despite the numerous delectable looking dishes on the vast menu, I had my usual dead cow medium rare. It came with salad bar, mashed taters and gravy, real turnip greens (they tasted frozen fresh. Or was that fresh frozen?).
